Inuvik Sunrise Festival
Early January - Every December the sun sets for the last time below the horizon, and after nearly 30 days of darkness the return of the sun is celebrated at the annual Inuvik Sunrise Festival. Local food, dance, music and winter activities, including snow carving, sunset yoga and sno-pitch, are all part of the spectacle. On the Saturday night a party on the permafrost continues the festivities with a giant bonfire and an incredible display of fireworks.

Toonik Tyme Festival
Mid April - The Toonik Tyme Festival in Iqaluit is an annual celebration of Inuit traditions and return to spring.
Nunavut Mining Symposium
Mid April - Federal, provincial and territorial governments are developing a plan to establish Canada as the undisputed global mining leader and to ensure that mining continues to drive our country’s socio-economic growth.
Nattiq Frolics
Mid April - Community's annual spring jamboree, complete with races, dancing and cultural events.
Alianait Arts Festival
The Alianait Arts Festival takes place in Iqaluit, Nunavut, every year at the end of June. Alianait sets the spotlight on Inuit and other circumpolar artists while bringing together exciting world-class musicians, circus acrobats, dancers, storytellers, actors, filmmakers and visual artists from across the globe.
Movie Night across Canada
The fourth Movie Nights Across Canada event took place in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and celebrated Inuit talent in the Canadian film and television industry.
Canada Day
July 1st - Canada Day is the national day of Canada. In Iqualuit we have many exciting things planned to celebrate this special day.
Nunavut Day
July 9th - Nunavut Day is a holiday that celebrates the signing of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and the birth of a new Canadian territory.

Mid September - For the past 26 years, this has been northern Canada’s largest annual business to business event, bringing together all levels of government, Inuit Corporations, Nunavut & southern businesses, investors, entrepreneurs for three days of networking.
Inummarit Music Festival
Each September, the southern Nunavut community of Arviat hosts one of the territory’s liveliest musical celebrations at the Mark Kalluak Hall. Visitors and residents alike enjoy these four days of music and entertainment.
